Known for her distinguishable greeting noises and flawless style, Pauline is the brains behind all things marketing here at TTT. One of the most down to earth people, she is always level headed (which balances out the other crazies in the office!), and is constantly dedicated to doing great work. From her creative content for the website to planning and executing marketing strategies for the company, Pauline knows the ins and outs of TTT like no other. Her determination and strong mindedness are both very apparent, and she never shies away from telling it like it is. This month the tables have turned, as someone who used to write the Meet our Totems blog is now in the hot seat!

Tell us about yourself. What’s your story/background?
“After graduating from SFU, I moved to the UK for two years and worked for a cloud based tech company in Canary Wharf in London. I worked as a Marketing and Events Coordinator focusing on lead generation, events and partner recruitment. After two years, I decided to move back to Vancouver and establish a base here.”
How did you end up at TTT? First Impressions?
“I first met Chris and Dave at an open house in the summer of 2016 during Vancouver Startup Week, and they happened to be hiring someone for a Community and Events Manager. I really liked the environment and the people that I met during the open house, and decided to apply for the position.
I really liked the casualness and candidness of the atmosphere at TTT. I felt like people were very genuine and it felt like a supportive work environment to grow career wise.”
What are some interesting things about yourself?
“I’m really into video games, and I can get very obsessive. I have an addictive personality so once I start playing I can’t stop! I usually like ones that have a good storyline and dynamic characters.
I also love good food. In the winter, I stick with soup noodle dishes like pho or ramen. I find it really comforting.
I also used to rock climb; I should get back into it. As far as sports go, it’s more like a puzzle and it doesn’t feel like a grind. And it’s always something different and makes you think.”
What’s your most memorable moment working at TTT?
“The scavenger hunt last summer! I thought it was great for team bonding. People got super competitive… even the quiet ones! I also enjoy the occasional board game sessions after work.”
What is your secret super power? (something you’re very good at, that not everyone knows)
“I kinda love doing voices. I used to want to be a voice actress. When no one’s looking, I occasionally like to practice at home, but don’t tell anyone ;)!”
What do you enjoy working on the most?
“Case studies. I enjoy working on them because I think they’re a great way to showcase the work that we’ve done for our clients, and I like how structured the format of a case study is in its clarity and components.
I also love the process of measuring results from marketing efforts, and then adjusting to see the change. Marketing is definitely more of a science nowadays.
What do you like to do in your free time?
“Gaming. (No hesitation there!). I used to write music and perform with my band too. We performed together for two years – I played piano/keyboard and was the lead singer.” (She may play down her singing career, but she’s actually famous)
Who do you look up to? (Who is your hero?) Why?
“Anyone who exercises. I can’t for the life of me summon up any willpower to exercise.”
