TTT Studios collaborated with Sengled to enhance customers' lives through an intelligent lighting solutions app. Focusing on the North American market, we redesigned the app’s onboarding process to be more intuitive and user-friendly.

Headquartered in Shanghai, Sengled Optoelectronics Co. Ltd is the global leader in intelligent illumination. By seamlessly integrating consumer electronics with energy-saving LED lighting, Sengled has revolutionized the market, offering innovative products that reduce clutter and expand intelligent home capabilities in every room.
Despite achieving success in Asian markets, Sengled faced a challenge with high return rates in North America, often within days of purchase.
Recognizing the need for intervention, they approached our team to revise the app and boost adoption.

Our discovery process uncovered key obstacles and errors Sengled overlooked when initially expanding their app to the North American market. Simply deploying the app in another language was insufficient. Through user testing, we understood that one of the main challenges stemmed from a cultural barrier.
Considering Western users' cultural preferences, the team identified that more minimal layouts, with concise text and a streamlined user interface, were crucial factors in ensuring customer satisfaction.
Simplified setup workflow
Building upon these understandings, we started a collaborative process involving users, our team, and Sengled. Together, we embarked on a meticulous redesign and validation process centred around simplifying the setup workflow.
Through an iterative approach, we successfully created a straightforward and unambiguous path for users to easily set up their lighting system.
Illuminate & captivate
Emphasizing simplicity and visual appeal, the app's final version for North American markets seamlessly integrates animations and micro-interactions throughout the UX, ensuring users are captivated from the moment they engage with our design and are delighted at every step of their journey.
