When Harbour Air approached TTT Studios in 2013, it was seeking a digital solution to help Aeroflight (Harbour Air’s mechanical and services company) improve their mechanic’s reporting processes and maintenance strategy using mobile technology.

An outdated system
Harbour Air’s maintenance teams work in five locations across BC and lacked a standardized system for logging tasks. Its existing tracking system also had too many manual steps and a complex coding convention that could create gaps in record keeping. The complexity of this system was creating downstream issues for its accounting and finance teams.

An integrated solution
After identifying gaps in the existing system, TTT Studios developed an iOS app integrated into a backend maintenance system that enables more cost-effective and reliable tracking of all airplane maintenance.
The standardized work tracking solution allows employees to easily track their hours on a per repair basis. Using iPads already on-site, team members can digitally record the details of each repair and store this information both locally and on a data storage system. Harbour Air’s accounting and finance departments can now review and audit these records, improving both transparency and accuracy of its record keeping. This app saves the company both time and money, while reducing paperwork for both mechanics and managers.
